We stand together in a unique “compound unity,” recognizing that the same God who spoke from the burning bush and delivered the Torah at Sinai has now tabernacled among us as the living Word.

Our Elders
Rabbi Dr. Don Meecha is a prominent figure in the Messianic Jewish movement, specifically known for his leadership in Toronto-based ministries and educational institutions. Unlike traditional Judaism, Messianic Judaism is a movement that identifies as Jewish but recognizes Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah.
Meecha’s career is defined by his transition from the established Messianic Jewish hubs of Southern California to the mission fields of Ontario, Canada, where he became a foundational figure in the regional movement.
Before his move to Canada, Don Meecha was deeply embedded in the Southern California Messianic community, a primary center for the modern movement’s growth in the late 20th century.
Before entering full-time missionary work, Meecha pursued a high level of academic and theological training to bridge the gap between traditional Rabbinic studies and Evangelical theology. He holds a doctorate (Rabbi, Dr.), which provided the academic credentials necessary to lead educational institutions like the Messianic Jewish school he later founded in Toronto. His preparation involved studying the Hebrew Scriptures (Tanakh) and the New Testament (Brit Chadasha) through a Messianic lens, focusing on how Messianic prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus.
Southern California served as his “proving ground” before he was tapped for international leadership. He began his career with CPM (Chosen People Ministries), one of the most established Messianic organizations in the world. He worked within the Southern California branch, which was a hub for Messianic activity during the 1980s and 90s.
While still based in the U.S., Meecha led an evangelistic campaign in Toronto in 1994. The success of this trip stayed with him and the leadership at CPM for eight years. It was the “fruit” from this early campaign that eventually led to the decision for him to relocate permanently to Canada.
In the summer of 2002, Meecha moved his family from Southern California to Toronto to act on that vision. His arrival was seen as a strategic expansion for Chosen People Ministries in Canada.
Upon arriving, he became the congregational leader of Beth Sar Shalom in Toronto. Under his tenure, the congregation expanded its reach, developing specific programming for children, youth, and adults to support Jewish believers in a congregational setting.
Meecha went on to found Light of Messiah Ministries International of which he was the director. It serves as an educational and outreach hub, focusing on “taking the message of Jesus back to the Jewish community” while educating the broader Christian church on its Jewish roots.
Meecha’s work is characterized by a “To the Jew First” (Romans 1:16) missiology. His approach focuses on maintaining Jewish traditions, holidays, and identity as a core part of faith; acting as a “Rabbi to Rabbis,” training local leaders to plant home fellowships and congregations across the province. Working between the Jewish and Christian communities to address misconceptions about the “Jewishness” of the New Testament.
He is often cited by other Messianic Leaders as a mentor or instructor and his work is particularly relevant to the Ontario Messianic community, as he was instrumental in establishing and supporting several home fellowships and congregations in cities like Toronto and London, Ontario.
